books... March My brother and I met here for some fishing time together. I've been a fishing guide for 10 years - mostly out of West Yellowstone. I had not fished Rock Creek for at least 10 years - maybe 15. It has always been a special place to visit and fish for trout. Yesterday we caught close to twenty mid-sized trout using prince nymphs and wooly buggers. I was amazed to see that many of the trout here all such a good size - most 14" - 16". We did catch a few smaller and a few larger - a mixture of rainbow and brown trout. This morning my brother and I read from John 14 and 15 in the Bible - it has been a special blessing to be here. I am truly grateful for fielding the fishing guide phone calls, and for the advice that put us on a terrific fishing spot on the river (which did produce plenty of trout and whitefish). The scenery is breathtaking, and I now understand the meaning of "Big Sky" and also why my husband lives to visit Montana (this was his 8th visit). The accommodations were superb! Bill and Clara, Derby, KA Having been fortunate enough to have stayed at a Trout Bums property before, we knew the standard would be high - this cabin surpassed all expectations! We have had the most wonderful stay, not diminished in any way by the smoke from the forest fires. Our days out were full and varied. Whilst Ralph and Toby enjoyed the water - fishing and floating - Ellie and I enjoyed Missoula. It's great to be so near the "necessities" of life, yet far enough away to enjoy the peace and solitude of this beautiful spot. Long may it continue! Deborah, Ralph, Toby, and Ellie, London, England John and I fell in love with Rock Creek last year, and brought our entire family back this summer. We spent our week tubing, rafting, hunting sapphires, swimming and enjoying a multitude of wild life. After each day out, we returned to the cool peace and quiet of Rock Creek and our spacious, comfortable cabin. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful spot. Your dogs are great - Thanks, Kelly, David, and David, St. Charles, MO Such a glorious late fall weekend with daytime highs in the 60's... blue skies and lots of sun. Full moon at night was a real treat too! We were amazed to see a whole herd of Bighorn sheep grazing throughout the day in the neighboring fields. We saw woodpeckers, a moose, deer and a bald eagle. Also, the extra touch of a "kitty bed-warmer" to cuddle with us - thanks, Yeller! We'll be back for more sheep watching!
